It was an exciting afternoon for Josh. Because he ripped out his feeding tube he had to have surgery to replace it. This was full surgery with anaesthesia. He came through the surgery well and now has a new feeding tube. This one is covered in an abdominal wrap so he can't pull it out again!

Because of the surgery, everything else was placed on hold today, including walking, going outside, changing out his trach, and leaving the ICU. Maybe we'll make progress on these tomorrow.

  1. That just bites. I hope Josh's awareness of what's happening increases so it can help him stay calm. Love you fam.

  2. My biggest hope for now is that he will soon follow commands. The doctors say he has both receptive and expressive aphasia, meaning he can hear our words but he doesn't know what we are saying (receptive), AND he cannot tell us his thoughts or feelings (expressive). I'm praying for a miracle.
